As you may have already guessed by the name of this site. My name is Leo Hopkins. I was born on the 27th November 1979 in Shropshire, England. I moved to ammanford South Wales when I was 9 years old and lived there until I was 18, when I moved to Berkshire to work in a hotel for a year as a trainee Chef. From there I moved to the Orkney Islands and then on to Edinburgh, then finally on to where I live now in Croydon.

I have many hobbies and interests but my main passion is motor-sport with a particular emphasis on Formula One. Indeed, I am starting university next year to begin a degree in motorsport engineering. I also like rugby, football, music and swimming.

Music wise I like everything really. It depends on how im feeling.

Enough about my life for now - if you want to know more, you only need ask. The purpouse of this site is to educate and inform people about myself, Leo Hopkins, in my virtual online racing career.

I first got into formula one simulation racing when I was 13 years old. I had a Commodore Amiga which my parents had bought for me, and the game by Geoff Crammond/Microprose "Formula One Grand Prix". Back in those days you could not race on line with other people; the technology simply wasnt there for it so you had to make do with seasons full of AI drivers. Unfortunately back then I did not count the number grand prix I won or the number of poles; but eventually, it became quite a few. Two seasons I remember in particular, when I was racing for Leyton House Racing was on one season I won all but 2 grand prixs within that year and the season after I won all 16 races with Ligier.

I made the eventual switch to the PC around the age of 16 and continued to use Grand Prix 2, 3 and eventually 4.

Until quite recently I was using Grand Prix 4 to race, but now with the introduction of "rFactor" a brand new REAL physics racing simulator engine I have been able to catch up with the times finally and can compete online.

At the moment both my brother (Alex Hopkins) and I compete against each other in rFactor Formula Series ONE. He won fair and square last season before I could test my car properly and get it tuned finely to each circuit and get myself and my racing style adjusted to the new physics of rFactor. This season will be different....and so will the next!
